Ozias said to her, “Blessed are you, daughter, in the sight of the Most High God, above all the women upon the earth; and blessed is the Lord God, who created the heavens and the earth, who directed you to cut off the head of the prince of our enemies. For your hope will not depart from the heart of men that remember the strength of God forever. May God turn these things to you for a perpetual praise, to visit you with good things, because you did not spare your life by reason of the affliction of our race, but avenged our fall, walking a straight way before our God.” And all the people said, “Amen! Amen!” When they came to her, they all blessed her with one accord, and said to her, “You are the exaltation of Jerusalem! You are the great glory of Israel! You are the great rejoicing of our race! You have done all these things by your hand. You have done with Israel the things that are good, and God is pleased with it. Blessed be you with the Almighty Lord for evermore.” And all the people said, “Amen!”

E avvenne che come Elisabetta ebbe udito il saluto di Maria, il bambino le balzò nel seno; ed Elisabetta fu ripiena di Spirito Santo, e a gran voce esclamò: Benedetta sei tu fra le donne, e benedetto è il frutto del tuo seno! E come mai m’è dato che la madre del mio Signore venga da me? Poiché ecco, non appena la voce del tuo saluto m’è giunta agli orecchi, il bambino m’è per giubilo balzato nel seno. E beata è colei che ha creduto, perché le cose dettele da parte del Signore avranno compimento. E Maria disse: "L’anima mia magnifica il Signore, e lo spirito mio esulta in Dio mio Salvatore, poich’egli ha riguardato alla bassezza della sua ancella. Perché ecco, d’ora innanzi tutte le età mi chiameranno beata, poiché il Potente mi ha fatto grandi cose. Santo è il suo nome e la sua misericordia è d’età in età per quelli che lo temono.
