This is the book of the commandments of God, and the law that endures for ever: all those who hold it fast are appointed to life; but such as leave it shall die. Turn you, O Jacob, and take hold of it: walk towards her shining in the presence of the light thereof. Give not your glory to another, nor the things that are profitable to you to a strange nation. O Israel, happy are we: for the things that are pleasing to God are made known to us. Be of good cheer, my people, the memorial of Israel. You⌃ were sold to the nations, but not for destruction: because you⌃ moved God to wrath, you⌃ were delivered to your adversaries. For you⌃ provoked him that made you by sacrificing to demons, and not to God. You⌃ forgat the everlasting God, that brought you up; you⌃ grieved also Jerusalem, that nursed you. For she saw the wrath that is come upon you from God, and said, Hearken, you⌃ women that dwell about Sion: for God has brought upon me great mourning; for I have seen the captivity of my sons and daughters, which the Everlasting has brought upon them. For with joy did I nourish them; but sent them away with weeping and mourning. Let no man rejoice over me, a widow, and forsaken of many: for the sins of my children am I left desolate; because they turned away from the law of God, and had no regard to his statutes, neither walked they in the ways of God’s commandments, nor trod in the paths of discipline in his righteousness. Let those who dwell about Sion come, and remember you⌃ the captivity of my sons and daughters, which the Everlasting has brought upon them. For he has brought a nation upon them from far, a shameless nation, and of a strange language, who neither reverenced old man, nor pitied child. And they have carried away the dear beloved sons of the widow, and left her that was alone desolate of her daughters. But I, what can I help you? For he that brought these plagues upon you will deliver you from the hand of your enemies. Go your way, O my children, go your way: for I am left desolate. I have put off the garment of peace, and put upon me the sackcloth of my petition: I will cry to the Everlasting as long as I live. Be of good cheer, O my children, cry to God, and he shall deliver you from the power and hand of the enemies. For I have trusted in the Everlasting, that he will save you; and joy is come to me from the Holy One, because of the mercy which shall soon come to you from the Everlasting your Saviour. For I sent you out with mourning and weeping: but God will give you to me again with joy and gladness forever. For like as now those who dwell about Sion have seen your captivity: so shall they see shortly your salvation from our God, which shall come upon you with great glory, and brightness of the Everlasting. My children, suffer patiently the wrath that is come upon you from God: for your enemy has persecuted you; but shortly you shall see his destruction, and shall tread upon their necks. My delicate ones have gone rough ways; they were taken away as a flock carried off by the enemies. Be of good cheer, O my children, and cry to God: for you⌃ shall be remembered of him that has brought these things upon you. For as it was your mind to go astray from God: so, return and seek him ten times more. For he that brought these plagues upon you shall bring you everlasting joy again with your salvation. Be of good cheer, O Jerusalem: for he that called you by name will comfort you. Miserable are those who afflicted you, and rejoiced at your fall. Miserable are the cities which your children served: miserable is she that received your sons. For as she rejoiced at your fall, and was glad of your ruin: so shall she be grieved for her own desolation. And I will take away her exultation in her great multitude, and her boasting shall be turned into mourning. For fire shall come upon her from the Everlasting, long to endure; and she shall be inhabited of devils for a great time. O Jerusalem, look about you toward the east, and behold the joy that comes to you from God. Behold, your sons come, whom you sent away, they come gathered together from the east to the west at the word of the Holy One, rejoicing in the glory of God.

Ioan 13

Înainte de praznicul Paştelor, Isus, ca Cel care ştia că I -a sosit ceasul să plece din lumea aceasta la Tatăl şi fiindcă iubea pe ai Săi, cari erau în lume, i -a iubit pînă la capăt. În timpul cinei, după ce diavolul pusese în inima lui Iuda Iscarioteanul, fiul lui Simon, gîndul să -L vîndă, Isus, fiindcă ştia că Tatăl Îi dăduse toate lucrurile în mîni, că dela Dumnezeu a venit şi la Dumnezeu Se duce, S -a sculat dela masă, S'a desbrăcat de hainele Lui, a luat un ştergar, şi S'a încins cu el. Apoi a turnat apă într'un lighean şi a început să spele picioarele ucenicilor, şi să le şteargă cu ştergarul cu care era încins. A venit deci la Simon Petru. Şi Petru I -a zis: ,,Doamne, Tu să-mi speli mie picioarele?`` Drept răspuns, Isus i -a zis: ,,Ce fac Eu, tu nu pricepi acum, dar vei pricepe după aceea.`` Petru I -a zis: ,,Niciodată nu-mi vei spăla picioarele!`` Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Dacă nu te spăl Eu, nu vei avea parte deloc cu Mine.`` ,,Doamne,`` I -a zis Simon Petru, ,,nu numai picioarele, dar şi mînile şi capul!`` Isus i -a zis: ,,Cine s -a scăldat n'are trebuinţă să-şi spele decît picioarele, ca să fie curat de tot; şi voi sînteţi curaţi, dar nu toţi.`` Căci ştia pe cel ce avea să -l vîndă; de aceea a zis: ,,Nu sînteţi toţi curaţi.`` Dupăce le -a spălat picioarele, Şi -a luat hainele, S'a aşezat iarăş la masă şi le -a zis: ,,Înţelegeţi voi ce v'am făcut Eu? Voi Mă numiţi ,Învăţătorul şi Domnul`, şi bine ziceţi, căci sînt. Deci, dacă Eu, Domnul şi Învăţătorul vostru, v'am spălat picioarele, şi voi sînteţi datori să vă spălaţi picioarele unii altora. Pentru că Eu v'am dat o pildă, ca şi voi să faceţi cum am făcut Eu. Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun, că robul nu este mai mare decît domnul său, nici apostolul mai mare decît cel ce l -a trimes. Dacă ştiţi aceste lucruri, ferice de voi, dacă le faceţi. Nu vorbesc despre voi toţi; cunosc pe aceia pe cari i-am ales. Dar trebuie să se împlinească Scriptura, care zice: ,Celce mănîncă pîne cu Mine a ridicat călcîiul împotriva Mea.` Vă spun lucrul acesta depe acum, înainte ca să se întîmple, pentruca, atunci cînd se va întîmpla, să credeţi că Eu sînt. Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun că, cine primeşte pe acela pe care -l trimet Eu, pe Mine Mă primeşte; şi cine Mă primeşte pe Mine, primeşte pe Celce M'a trimes pe Mine.`` Dupăce a spus aceste cuvinte, Isus S'a tulburat în duhul Lui, a mărturisit, şi a zis: ,,Adevărat, adevărat, vă spun, că unul din voi Mă va vinde.`` Ucenicii se uitau unii la alţii, şi nu înţelegeau despre cine vorbeşte. Unul din ucenici, acela pe care -l iubea Isus, stătea la masă culcat pe sînul lui Isus. Simon Petru i -a făcut semn să întrebe cine este acela despre care vorbea Isus. Şi ucenicul acela s'a răzemat pe pieptul lui Isus, şi I -a zis: ,,Doamne, cine este?`` Isus a răspuns: ,,Acela, căruia îi voi întinge bucăţica, şi i -o voi da.`` Şi a întins o bucăţică, şi a dat -o lui Iuda, fiul lui Simon, Iscarioteanul. Cum a fost dată bucăţica, a intrat Satana în Iuda. Isus i -a zis: ,,Ce-ai să faci, fă repede.`` Dar nimeni din cei ce şedeau la masă, n'a înţeles pentruce îi zisese aceste vorbe. Unii credeau că, de vreme ce Iuda avea punga, Isus voia să -i spună: ,,Cumpără ce ne trebuie pentru praznic;`` sau îi poruncea să dea ceva săracilor. Iuda, dupăce a luat bucăţica, a ieşit afară în grabă. Era noapte. Dupăce a ieşit Iuda, Isus a zis: ,,Acum, Fiul omului a fost proslăvit şi Dumnezeu a fost proslăvit în El. Dacă Dumnezeu a fost proslăvit în El, şi Dumnezeu Îl va proslăvi în El însuş, şi -L va proslăvi îndată. Copilaşilor, mai sînt puţin cu voi. Mă veţi căuta, şi, cum am spus Iudeilor că, unde Mă duc Eu, ei nu pot veni, tot aşa vă spun şi vouă acum. Vă dau o poruncă nouă: Să vă iubiţi unii pe alţii; cum v-am iubit Eu, aşa să vă iubiţi şi voi unii pe alţii. Prin aceasta vor cunoaşte toţi că sînteţi ucenicii Mei, dacă veţi avea dragoste unii pentru alţii.`` ,,Doamne``, I -a zis Simon Petru, ,,unde Te duci?`` Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Tu nu poţi veni acum după Mine, unde Mă duc Eu; dar mai tîrziu vei veni.`` ,,Doamne``, I -a zis Petru, ,,de ce nu pot veni după Tine acum? Eu îmi voi da viaţa pentru Tine.`` Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Îţi vei da viaţa pentru Mine? Adevărat, adevărat, îţi spun, că nu va cînta cocoşul, pînă te vei lepăda de Mine de trei ori.

Put off, O Jerusalem, the garment of your mourning and affliction, and put on the comeliness of the glory that comes from God forever. Cast about you the robe of the righteousness which comes from God; set a diadem on your head of the glory of the Everlasting. For God will show your brightness to every region under heaven. For your name shall be called of God forever The peace of righteousness, and The glory of godliness. Arise, O Jerusalem, and stand upon the height, and look about you toward the east, and behold your children gathered from the going down of the sun to the rising thereof at the word of the Holy One, rejoicing that God has remembered them. For they went from you on foot, being led away of their enemies: but God brings them in to you borne on high with glory, as on a royal throne. For God has appointed that every high mountain, and the everlasting hills, should be made low, and the valleys filled up, to make plain the ground, that Israel may go safely in the glory of God. Moreover the woods and every sweet smelling tree have overshadowed Israel by the commandment of God. For God shall lead Israel with joy in the light of his glory with the mercy and righteousness that comes from him.

2 Timotei 4

Te rog ferbinte, înaintea lui Dumnezeu şi înaintea lui Hristos Isus, care are să judece viii şi morţii, şi pentru arătarea şi Împărăţia Sa: propovăduieşte Cuvîntul, stăruieşte asupra lui la timp şi ne la timp, mustră, ceartă, îndeamnă cu toată blîndeţea şi învăţătura. Căci va veni vremea cînd oamenii nu vor putea să sufere învăţătura sănătoasă; ci îi vor gîdila urechile să audă lucruri plăcute, şi îşi vor da învăţători după poftele lor. Îşi vor întoarce urechea dela adevăr, şi se vor îndrepta spre istorisiri închipuite. Dar tu fii treaz în toate lucrurile, rabdă suferinţele, fă lucrul unui evanghelist, şi împlineşte-ţi bine slujba. Căci eu sînt gata să fiu turnat ca o jertfă de băutură şi clipa plecării mele este aproape. M'am luptat lupta cea bună, mi-am isprăvit alergarea, am păzit credinţa. Deacum mă aşteaptă cununa neprihănirii, pe care mi -o va da, în ,,ziua aceea``, Domnul, Judecătorul cel drept. Şi nu numai mie, ci şi tuturor celor ce vor fi iubit venirea Lui. Caută de vino curînd la mine. Căci Dima, din dragoste pentru lumea de acum m'a părăsit, şi a plecat la Tesalonic. Crescens s'a dus în Galatia, Tit în Dalmatia. Numai Luca este cu mine. Ia pe Marcu, şi adu -l cu tine; căci el îmi este de folos pentru slujbă. Pe Tihic l-am trimes la Efes. Cînd vei veni, adu-mi mantaua, pe care am lăsat -o în Troa la Carp, şi cărţile, mai ales pe cele de piele. Alexandru, căldărarul, mi -a făcut mult rău. Domnul îi va răsplăti după faptele lui. Păzeşte-te şi tu de el, pentrucă este cu totul împotriva cuvintelor noastre. La întîiul meu răspuns de apărare, nimeni n'a fost cu mine, ci toţi m'au părăsit. Să nu li se ţină în socoteală lucrul acesta! Însă Domnul a stat lîngă mine, şi m'a întărit, pentru ca propovăduirea să fie vestită pe deplin prin mine, şi s'o audă toate Neamurile. Şi am fost izbăvit din gura leului. Domnul mă va izbăvi de orice lucru rău, şi mă va mîntui, ca să intru în Împărăţia Lui cerească. A Lui să fie slava în vecii vecilor! Amin. Spune sănătate Priscilei şi lui Acuila, şi casei lui Onisifor. Erast a rămas în Corint, iar pe Trofim l-am lăsat bolnav în Milet. Caută de vino înainte de iarnă. Eubul şi Pudens, Linus, Claudia şi toţi fraţii îţi trimet sănătate. Domnul Isus Hristos să fie cu duhul tău! Harul să fie cu voi! Amin
