Life
Cecilia was a Roman noblewoman martyred for her faith around the year 230, and remains one of the most venerated early Christian martyrs, named in the Roman Canon of the Mass. Tradition says she sang to God in her heart on her wedding day, and since the late Middle Ages she has been honored as the patron of musicians, celebrated each November 22.
