Life
Charles Borromeo (1538–1584), Cardinal and Archbishop of Milan, was a driving force of the Catholic Counter-Reformation. He implemented the decrees of the Council of Trent, founded seminaries to train clergy, and personally cared for the sick during the plague of 1576. Patron of seminarians and bishops, this reforming pastor is honored on November 4.
