Life
Elizabeth of Hungary (1207–1231) was a princess who used her royal wealth to feed the hungry and nurse the sick. Widowed young, she renounced court life, became a Franciscan tertiary, and lived in humble poverty until her death at just twenty-four. Patroness of bakers, the homeless, and charitable workers, she is honored on November 17.
