Life
Marie Rose Durocher (1811-1849), born Eulalie Durocher in Quebec, founded the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary near Montreal in 1843, dedicating her life to the education of young people, especially the poor. Beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1982, she is honored in the liturgical calendar of the United States.
