Life

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Corpus Christi, celebrates the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. It arose in thirteenth-century Liege through the influence of Saint Juliana, and Pope Urban IV extended it to the universal Church in 1264. Marked by Eucharistic processions, the feast expresses adoration of the sacrament in which Christ remains with his Church.
