Life

This solemnity celebrates the birth of John the Baptist, son of Zechariah and Elizabeth and forerunner of Christ who prepared the way of the Lord. Kept on June 24, it is among the oldest feasts of the Church, and John is one of only three persons, with Jesus and Mary, whose earthly birth the liturgy celebrates. Luke's Gospel recounts the angel's announcement, John's birth, and Zechariah's canticle.

The saint of the day, every day

Bosko shows you the saint the Church honors today, every day — their story, today's feast, and where they fall in your tradition's liturgical calendar, so a feast that matters to you never quietly slips past.
