Life

Teresa of Ávila (1515–1582) was a Spanish Carmelite nun and mystic who reformed her order, founding the Discalced Carmelites alongside John of the Cross. Her spiritual masterpieces, including The Interior Castle and her autobiography, earned her the title Doctor of the Church. Invoked against headaches, she is honored on October 15.
