Life

Vincent of Saragossa was a deacon who served under Bishop Valerius and was tortured and killed at Valencia around 304 during the persecution of Diocletian. Praised by Augustine and Prudentius, he is the most celebrated martyr of Spain, its protomartyr, and is honored as the patron of winemakers. His witness spread rapidly throughout the early Church.
