Simon the Zealot and Jude—also called Thaddaeus—were two of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Christ. According to tradition, they preached the Gospel together in Persia, where both were martyred for the faith. Jude, author of a New Testament epistle, is beloved as the patron of desperate and lost causes. Their shared feast falls on October 28.
