Life
Casimir (1458-1484) was a prince of Poland and Lithuania, son of King Casimir IV, remembered for his deep piety, austerity, and generosity toward the poor amid the royal court. He nurtured a lifelong devotion to the Eucharist and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He died of tuberculosis at twenty-five and is venerated as the patron saint of Poland and Lithuania.
