Life
Vincent de Paul was a French priest whose encounter with the poor reshaped his life's work. He founded the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) and, with Louise de Marillac, the Daughters of Charity, organizing systematic care for the poor, sick, and abandoned. Patron of charitable works, he died in 1660 and is honored on September 27.
