Life

Wenceslaus (c. 907-935) was Duke of Bohemia, raised in the Christian faith by his grandmother Saint Ludmila and known for his piety and charity to the poor. He was murdered by his brother Boleslaus at the church door in Stara Boleslav and soon venerated as a martyr. Patron saint of the Czech Republic, he is remembered in the carol Good King Wenceslas.
