Life

Andrew Kim Tae-gon was the first Korean-born Catholic priest, and Paul Chong Ha-sang a lay catechist who sustained the young Korean Church. They are among 103 martyrs killed for the faith during nineteenth-century persecutions and canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1984. Patrons of Korea, they are honored together on September 20.
