This memorial honors the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Loreto, tied to the Holy House venerated at Loreto, Italy, which tradition holds is the house of Mary from Nazareth, miraculously carried there by angels. Pope Francis added the memorial to the universal Roman calendar in 2019. Our Lady of Loreto is the patroness of air travelers.
