Life
Francis Xavier (1506-1552) was a founding member of the Jesuits alongside Ignatius of Loyola and became the greatest Christian missionary since Saint Paul. He evangelized India, Southeast Asia, and Japan, baptizing tens of thousands before dying near China in 1552. Patron of missionaries, he is celebrated on December 3.
