Life
Bonaventure (c. 1221-1274) was a Franciscan friar, Cardinal Bishop of Albano, and Doctor of the Church known as the Seraphic Doctor. As Minister General he guided the whole Franciscan Order and wrote profoundly on theology and mysticism. Patron of theologians, he died on July 15, 1274, the date now kept as his memorial.
