Life
Bridget of Sweden (c. 1303-1373) was a noblewoman, wife, and mother of eight children who became one of the great mystics of the Middle Ages. After her husband's death she founded the Bridgettine Order and recorded extensive visions and revelations. She spent her later years in Rome working for Church reform and the papacy's return from Avignon. She is a co-patroness of Europe and patroness of Sweden.
