Life

Christopher Magallanes (1869-1927) was a Mexican priest who ministered in Totatiche and opened a clandestine seminary after government persecution closed the diocesan one. He was executed without trial in 1927 during the Cristero War. He is commemorated with twenty-four companions, mostly priests, killed between 1915 and 1937 for continuing their ministry; all were canonized by John Paul II in 2000.
