Life
Two of the Twelve Apostles honored together, Philip of Bethsaida brought Nathanael to Jesus and appears often in John's Gospel. James the Less, a kinsman of the Lord, led the Church in Jerusalem and is traditionally credited with the Epistle of James. Both are counted as martyrs, and their shared feast on May 3 recalls the apostolic foundation of the Church.
