Life

Isidore was a farm laborer born near Madrid around 1070, known for his deep piety, daily Mass attendance, and charity toward the poor, which he practiced despite his own poverty. Many miraculous stories surround his humble devotion, including accounts of angels plowing in his stead while he prayed. Canonized in 1622, he is the patron of farmers and of the city of Madrid.
