Life
John of Kanty (1390-1473), also known as John Cantius, was a Polish priest and longtime professor at the University of Krakow, admired for his learning, humility, and generosity to the poor. He made pilgrimages to Jerusalem and Rome, and after his death students and the needy kept his memory alive. He is honored as a patron of Poland and Lithuania.
