Life

Louis de Montfort was born in Brittany in 1673 and became a priest and itinerant missionary preacher in western France, founding the Company of Mary and the Daughters of Wisdom. Known for his ardent Marian devotion, he wrote True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, a work that profoundly shaped Marian spirituality and inspired Pope John Paul II's motto Totus Tuus. He died in 1716.
